About Us

Settle & District Aid in Sickness Fund is a registered charity (No. 219094) based in North Yorkshire, dedicated to supporting individuals suffering short-term illness or hardship. Our support spans the rural areas of Bentham, Settle, and nearby villages, providing essential aid where statutory services may not reach.

We are proud of our community roots, having operated for over 60 years through the dedication of local volunteers and trustees. Our vision is to be a safety net for those navigating medical recovery and personal challenges in times of sickness.

The Fund works discreetly and compassionately, ensuring recipients are treated with dignity and confidentiality throughout the process.

What We Do

Our charity provides targeted financial assistance to help cover short-term costs related to ill-health, such as:

Referrals may come via GPs, social workers, carers or self-nomination. All cases are reviewed promptly by our local trustees who understand the context and urgency of rural health challenges.

Our Trustees

Our board of trustees includes local professionals, retired healthcare workers, and community leaders. They meet regularly to manage funds and approve grant applications with transparency and compassion.
